Fun with Financials makes nonprofit finance accessible, strategic, and just a little bit fun. They provide tips, tools, and resources to make the financial side of running a nonprofit just a little bit easier.
Background
In 2017, Purrly Digital helped Fun with Financials transition from a proprietary CMS and rebuild their website in WordPress. The transition included custom development of a membership for access to tools and resources for social justice nonprofit financial professionals. As part of the annual maintenance plan, Purrly continued to manage their site hosting and maintenance after the site was complete.
For their 20th anniversary in 2022, Fun with Financials decided to remove the membership feature and refresh the website’s design, user experience, and navigation. They were looking for an easier way to produce and share content, as well as a cohesive strategy for the future.
Solution
Refreshed website design, updated user experience
Purrly Digital streamlined the website design, improved accessibility, reduced the number of pages, and updated navigation, making tools and resources easier to find. The content audit allowed Fun with Financials to review and assess each piece of content before transitioning it to the new site, ensuring everything was updated, moved, or appropriately redirected if archived.
Engaging a busy audience with consistent content
Purrly Digital conducted a thorough content and SEO audit to evaluate site performance, along with a competitor analysis. Using these insights, Purrly created a shared content strategy, marketing calendar, and an ideas repository to help the Fun with Financials team track trends and organize content creation in one place.
Producing and sharing regular content with a busy schedule can be a challenge for a lot of our clients. Without having to sign up for an expensive retainer, Purrly assists Fun with Financials by posting blog content, sharing updates with their audience, and managing email campaigns through an ad-hoc agreement.
The result is a budget-friendly solution for Fun with Financials, leading to an increase in website traffic, engagement on LinkedIn, and based on the high open and click rates, a list of subscribers who look forward to monthly email newsletters and updates.
